The Swindon & Cricklade Railway is Wiltshire’s only standard gauge heritage line and runs through picturesque North Wiltshire, using both steam and diesel hauled trains. Having celebrated it’s 30th anniversary in 2008, the railway is now looking to the future, when one day, the length of track will be four miles long, from Mouldon Hill Country Park in Swindon, through to Cricklade.

A steam train service runs on Sundays from Easter until the end of October. (Frequent service between 1100 – 1600). A diesel train service runs on Saturdays from Easter until the end of November; and also during school holidays, Wednesdays from April to November. (Frequent service between 1100 – 1600).

Santa Specials, Easter Egg Specials, Halloween Specials, a Vintage Transport Weekend, and a Wartime Weekend, are among the extensive list of special events held throughout the year.

The Railway is available for private hire for dinners, receptions, parties, or meetings. Either in the static Norwegian Railways restaurant carriage, or with a privately hired train, which may include the “Moonraker” carriage for catering. The Railway is also licensed/registered for civil weddings, to provide a novel and interesting venue, with all the quality and dignity such a ceremony deserves.
